Erode-All have two 5-axis machines - the DMG DMU 70 Evolution and the new Mikron UCP 600 Vario. The 10 stage pallet changer on the Mikron is what separates the two machines. This allows one component to be automatically exchanged for another, which in turn provides Erode-All with a non-stop machining solution. It also has all the state-of-the-art features that you would expect, including:
- iTNC 530 control with a 30 position tool changer
- Spindle 20,000 rpm with through spindle coolant
- Laser tool measuring UCP
- Touch probe
- Thermal control
The 5-axis machining capability allows Erode-All to offer the facility to produce more complex components. Reduced set-ups and higher rates of material removal combine in order to reduce lead times.
These machines are linked to our CAD/CAM department, which utilises seats of Open Mind to produce the required machining paths.
